What is a content group?
A content group is a collection of items – such as a list of Products, Services, Solutions, Case Studies, Brands, Markets, Industries etc.
Within a content group, each item will use the same field structure, and you can customise each content group accordingly.
For example, you may the following content groups and fields:
- Product [Content Group]
- Title [Field]
- Description [Field]
- Main Image [Field]
- Multiple PDFs [Field]
- Multiple Videos [Field]
- Case Study [Content Group]
- Title [Field]
- Client Name [Field]
- Multiple Images [Field]
- Single PDF [Field]
The platform allows you to have as many content groups as you need, with as many fields as required.
How to get started with content groups
- Start by creating a new content group
- Add fields to your new content group to define the structure.
- Add items into your content group to build up your products, case studies or other reference points.
How to use your content groups within an experience
Once you have created a content group, defined the fields and populated it, then you’re ready to use it within an experience.
- You can dynamically populate a grid, and create a templated item page.
- You can dynamically populate a carousel, and create a templated item page.
- You can allow for smart filtering using a Sidebar Filter on a Grid.
Updating your dynamic content within a grid or carousel
When you add new items to your content group, by default we don’t include these within a grid or carousel, keeping you in control of your publishing workflow.
- You can easily add any new items into the grid or carousel
How to build deeper content within a content group
When you set up your fields, you may start with very simple fields such as name, description, price, image, video.
With repeatable structures – you can start to quickly build out deeper content – such as highlights, features, benefits, use case – to give your content group items depth.
