Install your Experience on an iPad

You must allow sufficient time before any event or usage to fully install, download and test your experience.

Prerequisites

Please ensure that your iPad has been updated to meet these minimum supported requirements:

  • iOS Version: 17.4 or higher
  • Chrome Version: 119 or higher
  • Safari Version: 17.4 or higher

Installation

Safari Browser

  1. On your iPad, open Safari
  2. Go to the URL for the POPcomms Experience that you want to install. e.g. https://customer.popcomms.app/app/1
  3. Tap the “Share” button
  1. With the Share menu open, scroll down
  1. Select “Add to Home Screen”
  1. The “Add to Home Screen” menu appears
    • You can provide an alternative name to appear on the homescreen if required.
    • Click “Add” to add the Experience to your homescreen.

Chrome Browser

  1. On your iPad, open Chrome
  2. Go to the URL for the POPcomms Experience that you want to install. e.g. https://customer.popcomms.app/app/1
  3. Tap the “Share” button
  1. With the Share menu open, scroll down
  1. Select “Add to Home Screen”
  1. The “Add to Home Screen” menu appears
    • You can provide an alternative name to appear on the homescreen if required.
    • Click “Add” to add the Experience to your homescreen.

Opening the Experience

  1. The Experience will appear on the homescreen. Tapping this will open the experience.

  1. Your experience will then be available to browse

Download for Offline Usage

  1. Ensure all browsers are closed
  2. Close the experience by first tapping on the menu button
  1. Then selecting “Close”
  1. Reopen the app using the homescreen tile
  1. A download progress bar will appear in the bottom right hand corner of the experience.

    It is vital that this reaches 100% completion to ensure optimal offline performance. You must allow sufficient time before any testing or live event to allow your experience to download fully.
  1. Once your experience has fully downloaded, you must test the experience replicating the conditions it will be used in.

    If it is to be used in offline mode, then switch the device into Airplane mode, restart the experience following steps 3-4, then test the entire experience to make sure it works as expected.
