The following information applies to these components
The iFrame component allows you to embed an external website, tool or page directly into your experience.
The component displays the external page within an iFrame and can be added as a standalone page or section component.
Add an iFrame Page
Add the iFrame component to your page or section using the component settings.
When no URL has been provided, an editor placeholder is displayed in the Page Builder. This allows you to identify the component before an external page has been configured.
Set a Fixed URL
To embed the same external page for all users:
- Add an iFrame component.
- In the enter the external page’s URL in the URL field.
- Save the page and preview the experience to confirm that the external page loads correctly.
Only one URL source can be used at a time. You cannot combine a fixed URL with a URL provided by an attached Content Group field.
Enable or Disable Cache
The Enable Cache setting controls whether the embedded page is allowed to reuse cached content. It can be toggled in the .
With caching enabled, the embedded page may reuse a previously cached version of its content. Disabling Enable Cache prevents the component from reusing its cached content, which can help when changes to the external page are not appearing as expected.
Test the embedded page with both settings if you are unsure whether cached content is affecting what is displayed.
Test the Embedded Page
After configuring the URL, preview or publish the experience to confirm that the external page loads and behaves as expected.
Check that:
- The correct external page is displayed.
- The embedded content fits and displays correctly within the page.
- Any interactive elements, such as buttons, forms or navigation, work as expected.
- The content displays correctly with your chosen Enable Cache setting.
Test the component on the devices and environments where it will be used, as external websites may behave differently depending on their configuration.
Troubleshoot a Page That Will Not Load
If the external page does not load, first check that the URL entered in the component is correct and can be opened directly in a browser.
If the URL works in a browser but not within the iFrame component, the external website may be preventing itself from being embedded.
iFrame Component and iFrame Media Assets
The iFrame component is different from an iFrame media asset stored in the Media Library.
- iFrame component: Used to embed an external website or page directly into your experience as a page or section component.
- iFrame media asset: Created in the Media Library for use within a Playlist Carousel, allowing external content to be included as part of a playlist.
Use the iFrame component when you want to display an external website as a standalone page or section. Use an iFrame media asset when adding external content to a Playlist Carousel.
