You can pin an app’s screen to keep it in view until you unpin it.
You should install the Experience you wish to use before proceeding with these instructions.
N.B. There are other more sophisticated Device Management applications that can perform the same functions and more, including managing multiple devices with profiles. Please contact us if you are interested in more sophisticated device managment solutions.
Turn on app pinning
- Open your device’s Settings app.
- Tap Security or Security & location
Advanced
App pinning. If you can’t find it, get help from your device manufacturer.
- Turn on App pinning.
When app pinning is on, you need to enter your PIN, pattern, or password before you can unpin.
Pin an Experience
After turning on app pinning:
- Launch the POPcomms Experience app that you want to pin.
- Swipe up to the middle of your screen and hold.
If this doesn’t open your Overview, go to the steps for Android 8.1 & below - At the top of the image, tap the app’s icon.
- Tap Pin

After doing this, only that specific app will be allowed to be used on the Android device.
Pin an Experience (Android 8.1 & below)
- Launch the POPcomms Experience app that you want to pin.
- Tap Overview

- Swipe up to show the Pin
. You’ll see it at the bottom right of your selected screen.
- Tap the Pin
.
Exit a pinned Experience app
- To unpin an Experience:
- Gesture navigation: Swipe up and hold.
- 2-button navigation: Touch and hold Back
and Home

- 3-button navigation: Touch and hold Back
and Overview
.
- If you’re asked for your PIN, pattern, or password, enter it.
